LNER 20T Brake Van
PERSONA
This brake van was, of course, a spiteful fellow who deliberately made trains late at every opportunity.
STORY
The Spiteful Brake Van had caused trouble for Donald and Douglas. He had taken quite a dislike to Douglas. Whenever Douglas had to take the van out, the van would slip his brakes on "accidentally-on-purpose", causing Douglas's trains to be late and him (Douglas) to get the blame. Then, Donald scolded the brake van and threatened him by intentionally ramming into him and saying that there'd be more coming if the van misbehaved. The van behaved much better after that.
But then came the time in which Donald crashed tender-first into a signal box, leading to him needing to be sent to the works to have his tender mended, while James had to help with the goods work. James then had to take a goods train with the brake van in tow. The van noted that James was cross and decided to encourage the trucks to hold back, causing the red engine to become exhausted by the time he reached Edward's station. Since Douglas was there, he decided to help James up Gordon's Hill.
At that point, Douglas made a valiant effort to push James and his trucks. The van then felt himself being squeezed between Douglas and the last truck, and started to wish he never encouraged his peers to hold back. Then, Douglas squeezed the van so hard that he ended up breaking it to smithereens, and that was the end of the Spiteful Brake Van.

NOTE(S)
- The Brake Van is modeled off of the Railway Series version (face included) for two reasons.
- First off, the TV version was just a regular brake van with a face stuck to it (plus, the face didn't look spiteful enough).
- Second, the Thomas Wooden Railway Version, which is primarily based on the TV series, was modeled off of the RWS version of the character.
Another thing for anyone who may be concerned; Donald could have simply talked sense into the brake van. But here's the thing; unless the story - and the series in general - had been taking a more idealistic approach, chances are the van would not have stopped, and Douglas would have been sent back to Scotland where he would be scrapped. In other words, Donald only threatened the van to save his brother from a certain doom.
