Description
I had a few different ideas for Mega Magmortar, most of them tying back to its salamander origins. The Karura, which is the divine god-like creature that the Magmar line is based on, was also renowned for feeding on serpents and dragons. So I tied that back to the design too. And I liked the idea of amplifying Magmortar's most recognisable trait: it's cannon-like arms. In-world, I liked the idea of the Magmar line possibly being long descended from dragons, having been born in volcanoes and being impervious to fire and heat. Again, the Karura and Garuda are more birdman, than dragon, but I still liked combining the concepts.

How did a Mega Magmortar exist atop a volcano in the ancient village stories, I hear you ask? Perhaps there was unrefined Magmortarite around the volcano, or perhaps the stories tell of a different fire dragon? Who knows. The poke'dex has been wrong from time to time.

Mega Magmortar's new ability allows it to take full advantage of it's new secondary typing:
DRAGONIZE: Dragonize causes all normal-type moves used by the Poke'mon to become Dragon-type moves and receive a 20% power boost.
