Description haha! So many Rough Raws. Wellfe what can I say? posting sketches that have not received any REAL attempts at CG-ing is really a whole lot of fun! though don't get me wrong. I am not lazy. Okay I am a bit lazy but that is not point here.

I'm just glad that I'm able to post anything. Normally I would post great colored sketches but that takes time I dont have. At least this way I can share my thoughts, get a release from my imaginative diarrhea and even get more practice in.

This is Part 4

Anyways, here.

Continued from True Awakening

Scene:

Raven liked the quiet. When it was quiet she found herself the most productive. She managed to get a week's worth of meditating done; she got to finish reading her books; she could learn new spells. When it was quiet, she was able to enjoy her afternoon tea. Yes, Raven liked the quiet. But sometimes quiet can be mean solitude. It can mean isolation. Quiet for Raven, also meant being alone. And she absolutely hated being alone----

"Hiyah Raven!"

---Especially if it was alone with an oddly giddy representation of her emotional psyche. Which in turn meant being alone with herself.

"Happy..." Raven responded to her pink self with a nod.
Turning her head in all directions, the empath began to ponder the potential circumstances that brought her to this situation. It was quite the enigma really. She had no idea how she ended up in this dimensional cage of her mind nor could she recall where she had been prior to waking up. Rarely had she entered the realm of her mind without the assistance of her magic mirror. So how she ended up where she was, a poor example of what seemed to be a hospital room, was truly a mystery to her.

"..hn..." At least she knew she was in her own mind. Happy's presence proved that fact.

"Thank you Captain Obvious! Of course you're in your own mind!" snorted Happy. The empath ignored her. Taking a seat on the floor, Raven decided that this perhaps was the best time to make use of her powers.

"Azarath Metrion Zinthos." She chanted, expecting the energies she was born with to flood the room.

"..."

"..."

A few seconds passed and... nothing. Raven frowned, 'Probably lack of focus.' she thought.

"Azarath-Metrion-Zinthos." She repeated, channeling her soul into each syllable and each word as she concentrated her powers to manifest themselves.

"..."

"..."

Nothing.

The look of horror that appeared on Raven's face after that was one for the records.

"My powers....They're -they're not--"

"Working? Present? Usable? In the building? In order? Open for business? Available?--So please your leave your message after the tone!" Happy joked much to Raven's chagrin.

"This. is. serious. Happy. We're trapped here and I have no idea what's happening."

"Trapped? We are?" Happy asked with her head tilted slightly.

Raven groaned, "Yes we are! Now be quiet while I try to think this through."

"..."

"..."

"What th--- That was fast." she mused.

------

Minutes had gone by like hours, and hours like days.
Raven continued to ponder incessantly the possibilities of what brought her here. So deep in thought she was, the empath had unknowingly become completely oblivious to a bouncing ball of green that continued to do cartwheels around the room. If she noticed anything, it was only when it stopped.

"Happy?" The blue cloaked girl called out immediately receiving a loud "Present!" in reply. The Pink one stood at one of the far corners of the room a distance away from her. What bothered the empath however was the big wide smile Happy was throwing in her direction.

"Just like Beast Boy when he's up to something.... This can't be good."

Now, Raven prided herself in being able to sense things before they happen. Much like how Robin uses his analytical detective skills to predict a particular outcome, or how Cyborg can foresee results with certain calculations, or how Starfire achieves results through cause and effect, or how even Beast Boy can anticipate certain his enemies movements in battle with his keen animal senses-----most of the time---- So when the empath found herself in the shadow of a fast falling green blur, it became troublesome. When that green turned out to be brave, it got annoying. When Brave lands on your head completely catching you of guard, it really pissed her off.

"CANNON-- BALL!"

"Huwah?!"
------

Several mushroom clouds, bursts of laughter and screams of pain later. A disheveled Raven stood looking well, really pissed off.

"WHAT do you think you're doing BRAVE?! I'm trying to get us out of here and you suddenly drop out of nowhere and literally land on my head!! What were you thinking?!" Raven bellowed, steam rising from her head. Brave dusted her shoulders off nonchalantly not in the least bothered.

"Never dog-piled you before. Everyone else has been afraid to try, so I did it. After all, I'm the only one that can." Brave retorted as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Happy, being the HAPPY emotion she was, merely stood ground and beamed. Raven being the calm and collected individual she usually was, silently planned how to shove her emotions into a blender.

"This is not helping. I must get out of here. My friends need me. Who knows what could be happening out there?"

"Exactly." came the sneering reply. The empath suddenly froze. She knew had heard that voice before. She knew it well. It was one so chilling and heavy she had buried it into the deepest part of herself. It was the voice that left her mouth when she allowed herself to be swallowed by her fear, the voice she spoke through when she gave in to her rage.

"Anger." Raven spoke, trying her hardest to maintain her calm facade. The copy smiled as she stepped out of the shadows, eyes hidden beneath her crimson cloak.

The two other emotions, Happy and Brave, felt the impending danger and took their positions at their creator's side. Their earlier smiles now replaced with readied determination should their sister try anything. Anger chuckled at the display.

"Dear dear Raven. What ever did you do this time to end up in a place like this? With them?" the red one asked, amusement evident in her tone.

Raven shuddered. After Happy and Brave manifested, she half expected a few others to appear in this realm. Affection perhaps? Or maybe even Timid. Anger however was the last on her list of potential visitors. Especially since she took special measures to ensure that she never got loose.

"Nothing." the empath replied. "I did nothing... to end up here."

Anger didn't speak, her smile never faltering for a moment. She could feel the intense gazes of her sisters. Ready to strike at any moment should she make the wrong move. It was to be expected. She was after all, the most prone to losing control. This time however the circumstances were different. Words needed to be shared.

The Red Raved let out what seemed to be a giggle as she reached for the hem of her hood and brought it down to her shoulders. Raven, Happy and Brave gasped in surprise.
All of a sudden there stood before them not an evil demonic four-eyed entity bent on destruction, but a happy snickering normal Raven in a red garb.

"Didn't see that coming did you? haha!" Anger laughed.
Raven stood mouth agape, completely taken aback by the sudden change in disposition. The other two emotions were just as stunned. When they felt no malice emanating from their sister-in-red they wasted no time in greeting her much to Anger's dismay of course.

"Whoa Anger! You look really pretty!" smiled Happy as she wrapped her arms around her sister's neck.

Anger's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Hey we have one face! Of course I'm pretty! And would you GET OFF!" she yelled pushing Happy away. "I swear you can be like Starfire sometimes!"

Brave laughed. "Hey, nice to 'finally' be able to see the real you. Gotta say you do look good. With just two eyes I mean. Wanna arm wrestle?" The green Raven greeted, motioning her arm up and down to emphasize her offer.

Raven rolled her eyes at Brave's one track mind. Anger shook her head politely. "No thanks. I'm not in the mood for any crap right now. Talk to me again in 10 years when I pretend to care."

The green Raven smiled. "Your call then Red! Anytime."

The empath in blue face faulted. The exchange between Anger and Brave just then was a particularly rude one-sided conversation. But that's not what bothered her. Anger had just pretty much insulted Brave and tossed her offer for friendship out the window. What bothered her was that she did so smiling nicely, using the kindest most polite voice she had ever heard and not once showing a hint of aggression. It also bothered her that Brave just took it like it was someone saying 'maybe tomorrow.'

"Close your mouth Raven, don't want the maggots to crawl out." Anger whispered.

Raven grimaced. "You may sound nice, but your choice of vocabulary hasn't changed one bit."

The girl in red shrugged. "Hey one of the perks of being me, deal with it. Besides we have more important things to talk about."

"Yes. We do. It has something to do with this place doesn't it?"

Anger's smile fell for a moment. It was not going to be easy to explain. The two other emotions in the room knew of this circumstance as well. They were aware of it from the beginning. It was what brought them here after all. Somehow they just felt reluctant to bring it up

"Raven. Listen to me. You're going to need to be extremely calm when we start talking about this. I mean, I'm supposed to be the 'mad' one but this will require everything you've got. "

Raven raised an eyebrow,"So what do I do?"

Anger leered at the incredulous look the empath gave her. Somehow they both knew that something deeply troubling was about to take place. Whatever it was, it wasn't going to be pleasant.

"Start meditating. Now." Anger ordered.

------------------------------------

Another few hours passed by and Raven had managed to complete her meditation, calming her nerves to a near saint like state. Even Happy and Brave remained silent so as not to interrupt much needed peace. Anger wasted no time.

"What do you remember before waking up here?" the red one asked.

"Before waking up?" The empath repeated.

She had asked herself that same question earlier but couldn't come up with a decent answer. That was when Happy showed up. Before then, everything was a blur. Where was she? Was she reading? watching TV? Talking to her friends? Was she with Beast Boy? Wait, Beast Boy...

"The alarm. I remember it going off. A distress signal of sorts. Coming from----downtown."

"That's right." Anger nodded. "You and your friends went out to investigate but it turned to be a--"

"--A trap?! We were attacked by a number of strange looking creatures. Machine like beings that used weapons we've never seen before. And I--"

"---Couldn't fight." Brave interjected. "That distress signal was not just any signal. It messed with your head, your powers. It kept you from fighting."

Raven trembled as the memories rushed back to her. How she lost the ability to fly as she got closer to the source. How it hurt her head, her mind just being in the area.

"Yes. It hurt. That machine it was messing with my head, it neutralized my powers for some reason. As if it was intended for me."

"It was." Happy affirmed, the ever present smile gone from her face. "But that was not all of it, was it?"

The empath cringed. Pain suddenly engulfing her the closer she got to recalling. Why was remembering so difficult?
These were recent memories, why did they elude her. She remembered everything else. Like their previous sortie a few nights ago. When Beast Boy got hurt.

"Wait? Beast boy was hurt. He saved me some time ago and got himself injured in the process."

"Yeah, the doofus went all Prince-on-a-White-Horse for you and took the blow for himself." said Brave raising her hood to shroud the blush on her face.

Happy too found herself blushing at the thought of the boy.
"It was really Brave and awesome. But It was going to be a while before he could move again. Still BB was going to be fine! at least... until..."

"The Tower." Anger finished.

Raven froze in place, the blurry memories blurring further away. What? Why can't I remember?

"The Tower." What about the tower? Did something happen? Why couldn't she see passed the blur? What was going on?!

"Raven." Anger called out, the look on her face completely betraying the emotion she represented. The empath was to say surprised when turned to look at her crimson self. Amethyst eyes...Filled with tears that threatened to fall. She turned to Happy and Brave, their faces sharing the same expression.
She didn't understand why though. Rather she couldn't recall why.

"Can you really not remember? Or do you not want to remember?" Anger asked, her voice barely a whisper.

"Wha-What are you talking about?"

Brave clenched her fist, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. "Is that why you closed off your mind? Because you didn't want to remember? Is that why we're here?!"

Closed off my mind? Why we're here? That doesn't make sense!

"RAVEN!" Happy screamed. The pink cloaked girl had her face buried in her hands. Choked sobs escaping her as she struggled to speak. "please~try to remember... remember why you were crying!"

Crying. I was crying. Why would I have been crying?

"I don't understand any of you! Stop talking in riddles and tell me! So many questions but I don't--can't remember the answer! Its all a blur! Why?! I just want to go home!"

"Home." spoke the three in unison. "Remember home."

Home......................................................................................no.

And the world went white.
----

It was something Raven would never forget.
How much pain there was when they attacked her mind.
How she ran through enemy fire when she couldn't fly.
How she fought with her hands when her powers failed her.
How angry she was when her friends got hurt trying to save people, trying to save her.
How much dread she felt when the Tower was attacked.
How helpless she felt watching her home burn.
How desperate she had become when she fought through the pain to try and contact her injured best friend.
How she was caught of guard by the enemy's sudden attack.
How it felt right to do everything she could to save those people even if it meant her life.
How Ironic it was to do exactly what he would've done, which was precisely what she ordered him to never do again.
How surprised she was to find herself bleeding to death after the enemy attacked once more.
How painful it was to watch her home collapse from where she lay, and her powerlessness to do anything about it.
How painful it was to know she may have lost her best friend.
How painful it was to think that she may lost Beast Boy
How painful it was to know that he couldn't have survived.
How painful it was to not have said all that needed to be said.
How painful it was to regret.
How dead she felt even before she could die herself.

It was something that Raven would never forget. Memories that she would carry with her forever. That's why before she lost consciousness, she cast upon herself a single spell. One that would lock her memories of this day away, and her mind along with it. So that she may forget what she could never forget.

---------

Raven felt her knees buckle as the truth of her memories rushed back to her. All the anguish and pain, overwhelming her senses until she remembered. And when she did. She cried.

---------

Anger, Happy and Brave stood quietly watching Raven regain her memories. When it was over, they explained to her why they were the only emotions present--trapped away in this part of her mind with her. Anger and Brave were the last emotions she felt before she lost consciousness. Happy was the part of her heart desperate to see the light in the darkness. And fear, Regret, and Guilt were the emotions that embodied the room she was trapped in. They weren't there in human form for they were the room itself. A hospital room, a place of healing.

So when she finally accepted her memories the spell began to break, and the room begun to come apart.
-------

It was difficult, a heavy mind rush that she couldn't wake herself out of. Sitting on the floor with her head tucked in between legs Raven fought hard to keep her feelings in control.
She didn't have to worry too much about losing control as she didn't have her powers but that didn't make her feel any better.
Anger felt sick watching her original in such a pathetic state and felt the need to do something. An impulse she hadn't had in a long time.

"Do you know why I am like this Raven?" Anger asked quietly.
The empath made no motion to acknowledge the question. Though Raven knew what she spoke of, she felt too exhausted to delve to deeply in abstract emotional reasoning. The girl in red didn't mind. She needed to clear the air anyway.

"I'm like this because you've the lost the will to be angry. Because right now, you're just sad. You have been since you created this room and locked yourself in...."

"..."

Anger sighed, "...Be glad Brave and Happy haven't changed as much as I have. Brave is stronger since you put your life on the line but also because you were willing to face the truth. As for Happy, the only thing keeping that Pinky sane is hope. Hope that you apparently still have amidst the sadness." Raven said nothing and for a while silence prevailed over the room. Anger had said her piece. Raven just had to understand it.

For what seemed like hours the room was quiet. And Raven normally liked the quiet. She enjoyed reading, meditating and her tea when it was quiet. In the quiet she was most productive. But now quiet was the last thing she really wanted. And after what seemed to be an eternity for the blue clad girl, she spoke.

"I am sad. I can't deny that anymore."

Anger nodded seemingly satisfied with the answer.

"I know. I am you after all. An angry part of you, but you nonetheless."

"..."

"And Besides..." Anger smiled. "BB made me laugh."

Raven too smiled but only briefly. As soon as the memory of her fallen friend appeared in her mind, her heart broke all over again.

'This was going to take time. Probably as long as it took for her sealing spell to break.' The empath silently contemplated to her self.

"Yeah! you did a number on yourself with this one. " said Brave, materializing behind anger. "Casting a mind lock spell at the brink of death was really smart. You put yourself in a coma girl!"

If Raven's heart could sink any lower it would have. Anger nudged Brave in the ribs painfully. Knowing to correct herself quickly, the Green cloaked girl pointed to different corners of the room where large cracks had begun appearing.

"But its not all bad. Though Guilt, Regret and Fear are fighting hard to resist you and keep you in this room, you are still far more powerful. Once you accept that, the faster the walls will fall and the sooner you'd be free."

"SHE'S RIGHT RAVIE! Just a little more and BAM! It's outta the park and the crowd goes wild!!!" cheered Happy as she phased into view. Raven scoffed but silently thanked the pink emotion for her positivity and her presence.

"Though I actually thought Anger would be helping them you know, cu she's so negative all the time!" Happy blurted suddenly. Anger hissed and held herself back from strangling the pink emotion. Raven only sat in silence, smiling briefly at the exchange of the 2 polar opposite emotions standing before her. It reminded herself so much of her own tirades with Beast boy. She just wished she could see her friend again and she knew her companions felt the same.
