Much thanks - that's very kind of you! Especially to compare me to such an accomplished artist. I haven't heard of him before (so thank you for the link), but I think I can say that I like his art just based on that one picture.

He did a lot of coke ads back in the 50's i think but i love his flat-next-to-render style. I'm trying to explore it more in my own work. It's so rewarding. Rendering can be so tedious

Hmmmm.... I would say no. Generally people who do a lot of drugs and then paint tend to do patterns and really saturated colors. But that's my opinion

Hmmmm, I agree. After I wrote my last comment, I tried to think of more good artists that did a lot of drugs and couldn't. So, that's that.

On a more personal note, if you don't mind my asking: are you doing art professionally or more of a hobby?

I think you have a great style for editorial/books. shell out a few bucks for the artists and braphic designers handbook and send away. i think you could be turning away work because you're so busy

Tis true - handbooks are good promo. I'm trying to contaminate the internet with my art first. Like, infiltrate professional websites like AIGA.

thanks! I think I'm too entrenched in the digital realm to go back to sketchbooks and pens but occasionally I do. Although now with the ipad, computer sketching is that much easier.
