Irie, noticing how much pain her friend is in after the battle in Aryn, explains a tradition her own family used to preform for those they lost.
By taking their feathers (or fur, in this case) and releasing them into the wind it may help their souls be released from where they are, and help them get to where they need to be.
Balduin doesn't really have any beliefs, especially when it comes to this sort of thing, but he humours his friend knowing she's trying her best to help. But as Balduin see's the fur from both his son and his uncle fly away in the wind as dawn breaks that morning he can't help but feel... Better. Somehow lighter.
He didn't know what he believed - or if he believed in anything - but he hoped that Marrok and Duncan both can find peace.

This piece really had me tearing up!
Poor Irie just wants to help her friend begin to heal - and although Balduin may have just been humouring her to be polite it might have... Worked?

This was such a challenge! I've never done a pose or an angle like this for a face, and I've never drawn wings outstretched like this before!
But I'm very happy with how it turned out, and that it seems to capture the emotion I was trying to.
