Fabulous lighting and a palpable sense of isolation and fear make this a very rewarding shot. You've blended the existing mood with your own trademark strangeness, capturing the character of the building as clearly as a portrait of a human being. Excellent.

It is an old jail of my city "Saint-Michel", a new one has been built out of town and this one is now useless. I visited it during "journées du patrimoine" (actually you can visit any historical building for free during these days, see this link [link] )
This place was the "promenade" for isolated prisoners. A famous serial killer "Patrice Alègre" used to walk there when he was allowed to. He was a serial killer and a rapper. Therefore, it is written on the right side wall "Alégre le pointeur" (it is hardly readable). Le "pointeur" is a french slang word used for to designate rappers in prison ...

You're welcome. Prisons always have a weird history; I think you got that across pretty well with the picture but the added information is nice, too.
