Description
The flight suit was not easy to draw. Getting the little pilot badge sort of correct took a while, plus cartoon ponies don't really have shoulders so I had to hang the O-4 gold oak leaf wherever. The F/A-18C Hornet was no cake walk, either.

To my surprise, it's actually kind of difficult to invent a fictional Naval Aviation Squadron. All the good ideas already exist in real life. I did manage to come up with VFA-112 "The Ninjas." Dash flies with them at the annual Red Flag Exercise in my story Dogfight!

I did have a lot of fun creating this art, especially since I have a headcanon story behind it. Maybe someone has this picture hanging on the wall of a Navy recruiting office in the Battleships Universe , hence the title of the piece.
