Description
This was created as a commission for the Pathfinder RPG setting Shadowglade [link]A fun map in a dveloping continent/world map style. Pleased with the mountains and a new style for the forests. Definitely a lot that I'll be taking forward to other future commissions.

Is this intentionally shaped like an effed-up North America? Either way it's good, but if so, I'm all a-giddy.

It is entirely intentional. I'm not entirely sure what the client had against Canada... It's a post apocalyptic fantasy setting - and they had a backstory where some very bad tectonic things happened to North America.

Looks like Mexico got a bitchslap, too.
I'm assuming some REAL serious tectonic movement to turn what looks like Texas into a jungle.
Sinking Florida: not too surprising.
Texas rainforest: NICE.

Yep, it was pretty dramatic. Definitely one of those maps that caused me to ask a lot of questions when doing the early sketches. 'What have you got against Mexico?'

Thanks. The mountains are done using a hard round brush in PS on about 3 separate soft light/overlay layers over a textured background.

Yep, the forest really came on in this one. Finally sucked it up and created some custom brushes to help with the forest texturing. Worked out well.
