OH Disney and your hatred for mums!So, I just started doodling little Olivia with her ma (the coloured on in the left corner) and then it all eclipsed into this;
A small character-design of Mrs. Flaversham.
I really have no more about her; no name, no means of death, but I like to think that she and Hiram were Scottish young-romance-friends that later on turned into lovers and then lastly marriage... and then BLERGH! Mother, dead.
But here she is.
Opinions and meanings please?
Any ideas and thoughts for names and means of death, etc.

I like that she's a bit chubbier , not like most of Disney mothers who are always flawless, slim beautes (i'm not saying that it's something very bad )

No, named after Alan Youngs (the voice-actor for Hiram Flaversham) wife, Virginia Flaversham.

Bahaha, the pickles bit was too much. My sister was like that when she was pregnant too...she craved pickles and ice cream...thankfully not together, XD.

I wouldn't have an idea about her death, it would be ironic if Ratigan had anything to do with it, although that would be a bit predictable. Maybe she would have died from an old fashioned Victorian disease, or crushed by a human, thus making Olivia very wary of them? Who knows?

I love her design it's not often you get a female character who isn't super thin, I like the fact the she's not fat but nice and round and from the sketches and bits of dialogue I like her personality. I don't understand why disney only likes to focus on single parents (mostly fathers) than an actual couple. But anyway awesome character!

The whole Disney-killing-off-mother-figures is a widely discussed topic, and I do believe there's like a ton of mother-issues withint Disney himself. But well, at least it gives us the freedom of creating our own ideas
And thanks - she's a lot of fun to draw and I like plumb, round mother-figures, so yeah - thus the result.

Also, Hiram's outfit in the picture where he's hugging his wife--looks totally like what Basil wears underneath that robe / detective's outfit of his!

It wasn't - I just wanted to distinguish his younger self from the current one (in the movie), which is why he also have hair on most of the drawings. And I gave him a green cravat so ti would match his wifes clothes.

Thanks a bunch - Yeah, I'm not sure what most people had in mind for Olivias mother, but this was how I imagined she'd look like, and also the story for her and Hiram is how I'd like for it to be. Childhood-sweethearts; they seemed like the types IMO.
I'm not sure... Did you? It was *Brinatello who suggested Ginny to me.
And as for mean of death, I've decided to go with cat - I want Mrs. Flaversham to save her little girl, and in the process of such being killed thus.
