As the weather was getting colder alot of trees were dropping leaves all over the place, one such place was on Firo's head as he tried to read a book underneath a big tree. He brushed it off and examined it as it fell onto the grass. Cyril, who was collecting leaves not too far away, quickly swooped in and grabbed the leaf and just as quickly returned to his growing pile of them. Firo smiled at the wynglings antics and was reminded of a time, quite a long while ago in fact, when he had attempted to collect leaves himself.

- A Long While Ago -

It was Winter and many of the wynglings at the Nook were out collecting leaves from the trees under the watchful eyes of Alma. Firo was watching from afar, he did not want to join the other wynglings, they were much too loud and bouncy fo his liking. He shuffled his paws as he wondered what he should do, on one hand it did look like fun but on the other it looked quite scary. Firo came to the conclusion that he could go somewhere quieter for his leaves and he snuck off to an empty part of the woods just out of view. He continued along for a while until he found a collection of oddly coloured trees. While most trees had green or orange leaves, this one's leaves were turning a pretty shade of blue. He stared in awe of the tree, it's branches almost like a protective barrier around the dipped, almost nest-like center. Then he saw it, the perfect leaf, orange with blue tips and he just had to get it. So naturally he begun to climb.

- Meanwhile -

Maple was out collecting leaves at the nook with all the other wynglings. She already had a nice collection of leaves but she was getting bored of these trees now, all their leaves were the same and she wanted some variety. She came to the conclusion that there would be some better leaves further away from the Nook, so off she went. Alma called out for her to come back but Maple was already trotting away, the distraught Alma quickly pursued her only to find that she hadlksg sight of the small grey wyngling. Maple soon reached her desfination, a beautiful corridor of golden leaves, they fell all around her like snow and crunched under her feet as she walked. Maple selected the best one she could find, mission completed, she then proceeded to go back the way she had come. On her way she passed by some odd coloured trees, placing her golden leaf on her back Maple was about to pick up a blue one as well. Before she could even take a step there was a crack, followed by a squeak and then a loud thump. She turned her head, startled by the noise, to see a scratched up brown wyngling covered in leaves on the ground...

- "Firo!" -

All of a sudden Firo was brought back to the present as Cyril barelled into him. "Cyril, be careful. What are you doing?" Firo picked up the orange fluff ball, flicking a few loose leaves out of his fur. "Hehe, you have a leaf on your head again. Cyril grinned in amusement before grabbing the leaf and wriggling away. Firo sighed and smiled as he returned to his book.
