Description The bandages applied to his elbow wound were decent enough for now. He, of course, would have to later on re-dress the wound more properly...but still....his own injuries were not the biggest concern at the moment. He was more concerned by the fact his cat, which he had since he was 10, was dead. Kakyoin looked at the limp feline on the stained carpet. Her eyes, now glazed over, rolled towards the back of her fluffy little head. Sprinkles was a Maine Coon, and her fur, though cold and now stiff, was still long and as fabulous as ever. Kakyoin had already tried a few times to approach the corpse with just a bit more dignity, however with each nervous step, the frantic redhead’s stomach churned uncomfortably at the ghastly sight. He drew several copper dense breaths, covering his quivering lips with his tense hand.

Kakyoin shut his eyes tightly unconsciously to block the image, as he did, several tears escaped and trickled down his pale skin. Finally, he mustered up the courage to pick up his first friend for the last time. Crouching down with the comforter he found in Jotaro’s messy closet, carefully wrap up Sprinkles with the thick and white blanket, as delicately as his unstable hands allowed. The fabric, dotted with a few damp pinpricks, the tears Kakyoin failed to hold back, was quite soft, “good, she deserved soft...” the distressed redhead thought. Kakyoin wiped his eyes with the back of his fuzzy sleeve and sniffed heavily to compose himself. He should keep himself together, unless till he reach the sanctuary of his home.

Hearing the creaking of floorboards, the impending wave of grief paused and made way for a much more potent emotion. Kakyoin hugged the bundle close and shot a poisonous glare at the other teen, even the walking mountain felt a chill down his spine. Jotaro said nothing, just covered some of his mouth with a hand and remaining silent. Having washed his face, the only stains left were that of the carpet and the blotch still on the front of his t-shirt.

What could he even say?

Jotaro lowered his hand and forced himself to glance in the direction of the livid boy glaring daggers at him. “Say something…!” Jotaro cursed himself.  Knowing Kakyoin, if he expressed his regrets, there was a chance at forgiveness.

But that was before he sprouted fangs and ripped his feline friend assunders.
“....Look I-” Jotaro hesitated.

“I don’t know if I’m going to throw up or throw a rock at you,” Kakyoin said through clenched teeth. The look Jotaro was receiving, was enough to make Iggy curl up and die.

“Kakyoin-” Jotaro tried to explain, however, the understandably angry boy holding the dead cat cut him off. “How did this happen?” Kakyoin asked. Jotaro didn’t know how to answer dispite how obvious the answer is. The lack of reason infuriated Kakyoin, he gripped the bundle with white knuckles and used a free hand to give Jotaro a light shove, frustrated with the silence. “How, dammit?!” Kakyoin demanded  this time, taking Jotaro aback. It was rare for Kakyoin to raise his voice to such a degree, nor was it normal for the intellectual to lash out so angrily. Jotaro just looked the angry teen over and exhaled quietly, reaching for a hat that wasn’t on his head just yet. Too early in the morning for him to put it on, it was the one thing that could shield him from Kakyoin’s blistering hatred.

“....Dio,” Jotaro said grimmly.

“Of frickin’ course,” Kakyoin internally rolled his eyes before shouting. “Dioooo, what?!” The redhead raised a brow and leaned in, intimidating the man that was a whole foot taller than him.

Jotaro stood in contemplation trying to find an answer himself. “I-I don’t know how....” he explained quietly, scratching at his jawline. “Pretty sure he did this,” the awkward teen added. He shifted the weight from one foot to another uncomfortably, the weight of shame feeling like the whole world decided to rest on his shoulders. “Didn’t bite me… he sprayed some of his blood at my eyes to blind me before I could finish him.... had a cut on my forehead at the time-” Kakyoin raised a hand to shut Jotaro up for a moment so that he could think. “....it’s been explained to me that vampirism can be transferred from blood to blood contact,” he said a bit more calmly, piecing together the puzzle. “It was most likely unintentional, but....Dio turned you,” he said flatly, stating the obvious fact that could not be denied at that point.

“Dio turned you using his blood... I’m guessing since it was a smaller amount the transition possibly took longer than the usual.” Kakyoin began to twist his finger into that abnormally long and insanely soft curl down the side of his face, which was a frequent habit when he was thinking about something. “So, since that’s the case, you’ve been going through this since we came back home from Egypt.” Kakyoin put the puzzle pieces together, his thin eyebrows knitting in thought. That gaze returned to Jotaro with burning eyes. “So, this has been going on for a while,” he deduced. “Jotaro.....just how long were you going to wait until you cracked your lips about this?!” Kakyoin snapped as Jotaro’s pale skin went pink. Nothing annoyed him more than his jarring silence. “Well?! Don’t you think that’s something you should tell, oh I don’t know, your grandfather?! Or me?! Or literally anybody that cares about you!?” he ranted, throwing an arm into the air.

“You were in a coma,” Jotaro fired back, irritated with Kakyoin’s drilling of questions. “How the hell am I supposed to tell the Old Man, or anybody that cares about me, that I just somehow turned into some bloodsucking monster?” His tone becoming increasingly frustrated, he rubbed a temple with one hand and turned away from the other teen.

Kakyoin just scoffed out the angriest laugh in existence. “Oh, Jotaro please, give me a break!” Jotaro lowered his hand and narrowed his red eyes at Kakyoin for the clever use of his usual catchphrase. “It’s shocking yes, but give me a BREAK!” He snapped in a manner that was completely unlike him, and Kakyoin swore up and down that Jotaro actually flinched. The both of us have been on a 50 day journey to Egypt, in which multiple Stand users tried to kill us.” Kakyoin reminded, and he damn sure had a point. “We survived multiple plane crashes, a boat explosion, and then we found ANOTHER boat that was actually a Stand.... controlled by an orangutan,” he listed off all the events that had transpired in that bizarre journey.

“A-and as for that coma you tried to use as an excuse?!” Kakyoin stammered, grabbing at a very sore chest. “How did I get there, Jotaro?!” Jotaro was silent, only gritting his teeth.
“A 120 year old vampire used his stand to punch a hole through my body!” Kakyoin answered the question, his voice cracking. “And you seriously think that you becoming a vampire would surprise me-?!” He coughed after so much yelling, covering his hand with his mouth and clearing his throat. Both teens were silent after the strange lashing out of emotions, and Kakyoin just hugged Sprinkles closely, trembling and sniffing.

“....I’m sorry,” Kakyoin apologized quickly and quietly for such an unrefined streak of behaviour. He wiped his puffy eyes again and looked back up at Jotaro, clutching his throbbing chest.
“I-I just… I’m sorry. That was childish,” he sighed. “Just thought that....” he cut himself off again and bit down on tender bottom lip.

Jotaro kept looking the smaller teen over. It wasn’t alright. He could hear Kakyoin’s weak heart throbbing inside of his chest, only making him bite down on a fingernail in shame. Kakyoin ran a hand through his hair and sniffed.

“I’m burying Sprinkles in my backyard and... telling my family a stray dog attacked her.” Kakyoin explained with a calming exhale. “I have the tools at home for the burial. I guess it is a good time as any to do it now that I lost ¾ of the day…” he swore at himself after looking at the clock, knowing they both had class work to make up for. As for how his parents would react to him skipping class Kakyoin will make sure they never find out.

Kakyoin held the bundle and shuffled past Jotaro, avoiding any physical contact and stepping his way over glass and broken table to make his way to the front door.

“Oi, Kakyoin...” the gruff, deep voice still compelled Kakyoin to pause just outside the door, turning around and looking back at the monster in the shadows. Piercing red eyes stared back at him from the darkness, as the larger teen still had his arms folded and leaned against a wall.

“...I know you don’t wanna hear my mouth and all but… I’m sorry,” he muttered. “....didn’t mean for you to get upset about all of this... Didn’t mean to hurt Sprinkles either… I just… You’re right.” He said reluctantly. The redhead listened intently as Jotaro finally spoke. “....I should’ve told someone.... and I’m gonna need help with all of this, so… would you?” Jotaro asked calmly as those eyes pierced Kakyoin’s soul once more. The cherry red haired boy sighed and turned to the door.

“Give me some time, please.... I will help you as much as I can.”

Jotaro grunted after a period of silence and watched his friend walk out the door.
