My piece for the monthly art battle between , and myself.When The Ultimates came out i was blown away with how they captured every character perfectly. It was completely revamped and remixed but it just felt right. I love Bryan Hitch's take on tony. My Favorite design of him yet but that damn helmet is so hard to make look cool. I see so many goofy artist renditions of him. Its a scary task to take on.
After hours of working on this i'm so relieved its finished especially since i was sick almost the entire time working on it and now its done and so is the worst of this virus. Its not perfect but i'm happy with it.

I totally agree about everything you said about Ultimate Iron Man. One of my favourite designs and yes, some artists make the helmet look like utter ****. (Have you seen Brandon Peterson's version in Ultimate Extinction? SO awful. Your pic here is just glorious, really helped me with ding my ultimates sketch too.

Yes i have seen Brandon Peterson's take on it, and it made me laugh. I wanna draw him again but I talk so much **** about other artist versions I'm scared I'll jack it up. Haha but I should probably do the original design. Just prefer Hitch's version.

Haha. Yeah, Hitch is the best. Have you been following the latest Ultimates series by Hickman? He posted on twitter in response to someone asking if we'd see IM's old armour that "some things take time to change" which seems to indicate that something close to his old armour will return at some point

No, I understand... Never being satisfied drives you to be better... I'm just saying I tend to do rough pieces, no time to do full blown art pieces... work/kids/wife... etc... I know, excuses... I need to draw more, trying to make time.
