Technically, I cannot help myself to find the photograph other than flawless. The lighting in this black and white image is spectacular – it accents both the contrast between the ground and the sky (more on the metaphor will be said shortly) and the focus on the lone house in ruin in the midpoint of this image. Of the technical side of the image no more will be said.
What I do wish to mention is that indescribable Barthesian notion one experiences when coming across a true work of art, as is the case with this photograph. At first glance, it seems nothing more than a correctly composed landschaft depicting a ruin in a field. Yet its sheer magnetism has kept me glued to the monitor for the last twenty minutes or so, in dire search for the reason behind its uniqueness. So far my endeavor has returned precious little results, and that, I guess, is a true feature of true art.

The feel of this photo is conflicting, the lower half is peaceful regardless of the ruin, which speaks of times gone by, but the upper half looks stormy, unless I'm reading it wrong. I think its great !

TY, think the roof collapsed only recently. Had a look on google maps street view and it's complete. Shame, as it's in a beautiful spot
