I think it's the shape of the shield, but that third one really reminds me of the Deathscythe from Gundam Wing. Interesting concepts though- I wonder what sort of situation would require Clocky to trade the mysterious robes look for armor and weaponry though?

I don't watch a lot of anime, so I'll take your word for it. As for what situation would be called for, not a clue. Let us hope we never have to find out.
