I know that u'r from Finland. I'm polish, and here thats really hard problem.
In Poland abortion is banned... prohibited.
Here are two variants, when abortion can be.
Pregnant after rape or when pregnancy could be danger for mothers life.
So many women make abortion illegal.

This situation causes that in Poland goes on never ednding debate?
Why it's so hard for us?
It's hard to say when the life beginns. Most people says "birth". But thats not so easy.
Earlier and earlier medicine can rescue premature born child. More earlier then in many countries abortion is possible. So someone can say thats similar like "murder".
And in most countrys people have law rigts already before birth. No many people knows that before birth child has heirdom rights.
So is that human before birth or not? Thats really hard debate in Poland.
And one thing: for Catholicysm (most popular religion in Poland) human begins after conception. Thats Radical point of view, but as i said "most popular".

How that looks in Finland?

In Finland abortion is legall if you do it before the foetus is 12 weeks old. Some of peole thinks that abortion is ok, some of thinks that abortion is murder. And those who thinks that abortion is murder says that human life begins when the fertilization is happened. Some says that young foetus is not human yet. The most of Finnish is Lutherans, so our religion say nothing to this. When I started to do this presentation I thought that abortion is everyones personal business but now, I am not so sure. Now I only accept abortion is woman is raped or so sick that she can't give a birth.

Did you seen the movie "Juno"? It's not about abortion at all, but about young pregnant girl. Realy great movie.
