I love the even exposure. There aren't any dark black holes or burning highlight areas anywhere to be found, which is amazing to me - just solid color and form.

This same scene ..was a test shot for the Sigma SD9 camera when the Forevon sensor came out smae cropping..pretty much the same shot except the color was more white colored rock

the clouds really complement the ground - it's as if they left their trace on the ground and are disappearing in the distance. beautiful!
but I think that maybe there is something in what Alex37 wrote - my eyes follow the lines of the foreground rocks, stop on the sky and stay there. and I know that the fg is so interesting, but in the end I spend more time looking at the sky which is a shame since those rocks are stunning. maybe if you only make the sky a bit less contrasty, without lightening it?
