Overall
Vision
Originality
Technique
Impact
Vision: The emotion between both of the characters is present , but the poses seem a little stiff. Maybe giving the characters a slight slouch or a more relaxing pose could loosen this. The background also seems to be rushed when it comes to the tee and sky. Try mixing in water color or add details with colored pencil to emphasis on more details. A reference photo never hurts e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/>
Originality: Now although Tails isn't your character, you did draw him in a unique way that didn't even resemble a generic character design as all. I do give you props for that. As for the second character, she has a nice design too e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
Technique: I do see you stuck with the base color and that is a safe path to take if you are unfamiliar with clothing and body shading. However, focusing and practicing shading can really bump up your drawing. Experiment with different mediums can also help strengthen your technique as you can find new skills with paint, charcoal, pencil, etc.
Impact: As there is a feeling to sense in this, the posing doesn't really match the expressions. It doesn't show how or who the character is. Is he/she shy, preppy, melodramatic? Experiment with posing characters and it will help in the long run.
Overall: A great start. Remember to try out different poses to express your character and don't be afraid to try out new mediums. Reference photos are fine to use on backgrounds as long as your source is credited, and practice your shading skills. You're on your way e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

You take me as a hard critique, but I guess I deserve it.. To me this is a breakthrough in my artistic skill, but this is a nice little reminder of how bad I am in comparison.
Regardless I must unhappily agree with the statements, I am quite literally she shit with posture.. I really can't get much into it in anything I draw. However I will say that I wanted their bodies to appear stiff.. Its an awkward situation in my mind and both of them wouldn't be all that loose anyway.
This is a new medium to me, actually. I have only been inking and coloring with markers for a short time, and I'll give it to you on the shading, and I would have done shading if the markers I use weren't the most expensive things on the freaking planet.. I have a incredibly limited spectrum to use and most of them are just base colors.. I don't even have a brown, so I improvised on the tree. Which leads me to my defense on the background, I did put little to no effort into it.. mainly because the focus of the picture were the characters anyway.. I don't really know why I even colored it, Leaving it as line-art would get that across better anyway.
I appreciate your feedback and suggestions, which is the reason I open my best works to critiques, so that I can get those exact things.. and I really need to practice on different postures.. and save up for more markers.

I understand with new mediums ,being expensive and all, I should have put that into consideration before suggesting it, and I apologize .

^I stumbled across this video a while back and I found it really useful when it came to finding poses.
Now, I've never used copics and I don't know how well they blend, but if you mix primary colors with their complementary colors (ex: red-green, blue-orange, and yellow-purple) you can get different kinds of brown.
I'm sorry I was hard in my critique, I tend to stray off margin sometimes...

Copic markers are designed to be able to blend well, but I don't own enough of them to be able to take much advantage of that..
I'll watch the video when I have time.
don't sweat it.. we all need to take a break from the praise to be kicked in the face every once in a while. If I wasn't in a state of constant self-hate when it comes to.. everything.. I wouldn't have progressed as much as I have.

I tend to hate on a lot of my works too. Half of them don't normally go on dA because I find something wrong with a character's design or the shading is off. I only post the best to see improvement or decline as well.

3/4ths of the things I draw never see deviantart. And a lot of the things that do end up getting deleted later on due to me passing them in skill, and starting to look back at them with a nauseous feeling in my stomach.

Thank you, I tried hard on it!
The copic markers I have are special, they have brush tips, not traditional marker tips.. and honestly it makes it a lot easier.

brush tips!! Ah, I never knew those kind of tips existed, I've seen fine-point and thick, but never heard of brush tips.
If you didn't mind me asking about the markers, it is because i'm a new DeviantARTist that posts sketches. Since I haven't any colored pencils, I usually use pencil and ink. You can take a look at a few of the sketches if you'd like, I just posted at least four new ones.

You can easily look them up online for an idea.
I would recommend you to buy them if you want to color using markers, but I warn you.. they are far from cheap. They're not like crayola that you can buy a billion of, each marker is sold individually and each costs about 7 dollars. I have 19 and it sent be back almost $150. (plus tax and such)

I'm referring to the sketches that I have submitted so far. I was wondering what an experienced artist like you would think.

Take more time while drawing and don't settle for 'good enough'.
