Description
I guess its every child's dream to become an astronaut and reach for the stars. I know I do. But I found myself being an artist instead and now, I paint my dreams out for everyone to see.daryl

Dude holy shit! your story telling in this drawing is probably the greatest I have ever seen! The composition works so well with the subject and its absolutely gorgeous to look at! A quick question, Why did you choose these colors? They are an interesting choice in setting the mood in a situation that is so inspiring.

This makes me think of Jordin Kare's "Fire in the Sky" - don't know whether there's a sound recording online, but the first verse is:
"Prometheus they say brought god's fire down to man
And we've caught it, tamed it, trained it since our history began
Now we're going back to Heaven just to look Him in the eye
And there's a thunder 'cross the land and a fire in the sky."

You know, depending on perceptions, this painting could have some dark feelings about it. For instance, that rocket may not have people on it... and it might not stay in space...

I feel like this should've gotten first place. There's much better spatial coordination and it's cleanly done.
The only thing that might've kept this from winning was that it was more realistic than the other entries. Other than that this was far better than any of the other ones.

Haha wow! I can play out the scene in my head of the child playing with his toy rocket, and then looks up into the sky unintentionally and gazes in wonder at the rocket that just launched. The look on his face is pure awe-struck.
