Togman-Studio In reply to ??? [2016-04-28 09:03:09 +0000 UTC]

Hi!
You can use it if the final work is not designed to be sold, of course

Yikes expensive software. Β I would like to see the same concept tried in Blender - Luxrender - GIMP. Β Just to see if such expensive software is necessary.

Unfortunately, I'm not as skilled with Blender & Gimp as I am with more expensive solutions.
But I'm pretty sure someone skilled enough with these softwares would be totally able to get the same result.
Some renders made with blender are just mindblowing.

They have easily reached parity, but 3DS takes an unwarranted monopoly on market share at this time, but thats capitalism, only problem is poor people who are not professionals then can't afford to use it.

I will stick with Blender for my unprofessional hobby, i just like playing around with it. Also luxrender.

Nice work. The room has a real "lived in" look to it. I can just picture some hard working detective at their desk. Great atmosphere.

room air is clean in contrast to dust window (as dust particle reflect refract to make beam appear)
otherwise welldone

Stoop--Kid [2011-04-09 02:22:33 +0000 UTC]

Amazing work. Brilliant lighting and attention to the little details. I love the textures, it really feels like an actual room that people lived and worked in.
The fan kinda scares me a little because I think it'd get close to the guy's head when he stands up, but that's a really minor complaint.
Keep it up! I love it!

Thanks a lot for your comment, my friend
I hadn't see that the fan was so close of the desk.... Now I see ONLY that in my image!!! XD
.... ok ok, let's admit that's a dwarf office

It's a great piece. Keep up the good work!

achromatic-cycle [2011-04-07 13:32:11 +0000 UTC]

Very nice atmosphere and believable rendering. The chairs seem a little out of place for a detective scene, but that is a minor critique. The models, texturing, and lighting are all quite nice. How did you do the smoke? Is it post-render? Or did you texture the light?

Togman-Studio In reply to achromatic-cycle [2011-04-07 16:05:28 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot!
The smole is a mix between post render and volumetric light.

Very nice work. Terrific atmospherics (i.e. the rays of light through the dust) and atmosphere (i.e. the melancholy feel).

Would fit exellent as a background in some detective-themed adventure game. I like the most the fact that the image don't look OVERLY realistic. It has style: not your average million-and-one VRAY render.

Togman-Studio In reply to DeckardX08 [2011-04-03 09:21:11 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot. My goal was, actually, not to make a "overly realistic" scene. I tried to find a compromise with my own style. I'm very glad you noticed it
