"Hey, Vi. You up yet?" Ian walked across the dilapidated tile, brushing aside a few cobwebs and coughing away the resulting dust clouds as he made his way toward the nearly-wrecked cabinets that made up the wall of the kitchen. Opening the freezer, he found a lone package of bacon, still factory sealed, and checked the expiration date. "JAN 15, 2013", it read. Ian frowned slightly before finally deciding on a cheerily irresponsible 'Oh well, it says '13 on it. Can't be that bad.' He opened the package, taking a quick whiff and turning over his shoulder. "How does bacon and... well, whatever-else-I-can-find-in-the-freezer sound?" he called out towards the small, almost cupboard-like bedroom to his left.

"OI! Would you quiet it down out there! Some of us are tryin' to sleep!"

"Maybe if someone got their lazy ass out of bed earlier, I wouldn't have to yell, Mark!" Ian replied sourly to the gruff cockney tones emanating from the other, larger room on the opposite side of the wall. Laughing slightly, he walked back over to the armchair in which he had recently finished sleeping, tidying it up a bit before yawning his way to Violet's door. "Hey, Vi. Wake up, breakfast's gonna be ready soon." When he didn't receive a reply, Ian opened the door, turning on the lights and yelling "Violet, come on, rise and-" He stopped mid-sentence. The bed was empty. No one was in the room. He checked the floors and walls for blood stains or other signs of a struggle, but failed to find any. He began breathing heavily, holding back the urge to start screaming her name at the top of his lungs in hopes that she was just hiding from him.

"What's up with all the yelling?" chimed in a yawning, half-naked Trent as he brushed oily brown hair away from his forehead. "And where's Vi?" he continued after opening his eyes and scanning the room. Ian began breathing louder and faster. He was nearly hyperventilating, and holding back tears at this point. "Dude, what's the matter? You look a little-"

"SHE'S GONE! VIOLET'S GONE! They took her, I knew it! I should've never let her have her own room! I should've made her stay with me! Then none of this would ever have happened!" Ian began pacing about the small room, shaking violently and breathing more heavily with each passing second, until he finally turned sharply, slamming his fist against the wall, a mere two inches from Trent's ear. Ian sank to the ground, crying into his now-bleeding hand, and using the other one to steady himself against the bed rail.

"What the Hell is going on in here? Are you okay?" Mark walked in with quick, thudding footsteps, directing his attention immediately towards Trent, placing a large hand tenderly against the boy's left ear. He was completely nude aside from a pair of maroon boxers, which made Trent glow slightly pink before replying.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I- I'm not so sure about Ian though." he said, his voice shaking as he brushed Mark's hand off of him and crouched down beside the crying man, putting an arm over his shoulder and whispering softly, "It's okay. We'll get her back. I promise. Everything's going to be fine. Shhhhh, it's okay..."

A spark of realization lit in Mark's brain as he sat on the bed, placing a hand on both of the others' shoulders, looking out the small window and into the deep grey sky beyond.

"Ours are the lives that never end. Violet... Violet will find her way home."
