Hmm... Well how the /Assault Mode monsters are supposed to work is that they're upgraded versions of the monsters tributed to create them, and when they die, they bring back the lost monster, since the way to summon them is so slow and costly. I guess this is less a gripe on how good the card is and moreso on flavour, which is a huge part of any Yu-Gi-Oh! card.
From a competitive standpoint, yeah, this is a great move. From a card making perspective, though, it's kinda distasteful. j:

you could try another card that could summon /Assault Mode monsters, which is treated as summon from Assault mode activate
