Haha you're like the 10,000th person to say that. I actually came up with the concept for a girl trying to be queen of the pirates before I read Onepiece. I was inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean more. I've read Onepiece just to make sure my story wasn't completely identicle, and had to change a bunch of things. I had these great ideas for a sea train that pulled itself over the water by rope and a merfolk city in a bubble under the ocean... So much for those haha. I'll just have to do my best to make it different and live with people saying I'm copying it.

No no, I'd never copy anything like that. She'll have a vice captain that weilds FOUR swords, and DYES his hair green. completely different. And the chef will cook with his feet to leave his hands for fighting. Totally original.
