This was a really hard piece to tackle. But I took your advice and did what I could to make it "pop" while keeping the integrity of the inks: [link]
Please let me know what you think, if you have the time.

Thanks, Tim!

Hi, Tim! I colored this here: [link]

Thanks so much for letting me! If you have an advice or critiques I'd love to hear it. I want to improve so that I can have a shot at working for Marvel!

Heya. A few things. Try to stay away from "drawing" in color. I see that youre trying to sculpt form with some of your gradations and its not working. The penciler and inker are responsible for that so it shouldnt fall to the colorist. It will only end up fighting the groundwork already laid out. Just worry about light sources. Also, try to stay away from highlighting each individual muscle mass. Theres no need for it. Treat each figure as a whole and not as a group of smaller masses. It ends up looking very amateurish and Ive already seen that youre better than that. Finally, your palette is extremely dark here. Pages always print darker than what you see on your screen. This page would print like mud. Stay away from dark, saturated colors and stick to lighter palettes like you did in the earlier stuff you showed me. Something very important to remember. Learn how to work WITHIN the line art, not OVER it. The colors shouldnt obscure the work done by the inker. Textures and the like are the responsibility of the inker. Adding more on top of that will only make the work look convoluted and hard to read.

Hope this helps!

You are so amazing with your line weights and sense of light and dark. You're not afraid to use all those sexy blacks and you're so BOLD. Someday I'll have that confidence!

The inking work of your is always amazing, if there's something high than amazing, surely this has it; and the textures detail are awesome...

The textures in this page are -amazing-. I keep finding myself wanting to reach out and stroke Wolverine's arms because they look so fuzzy and I can't help myself. I don't often find work that does that to me.

That Bachalo knows his stuff. It's this exact energy that I think is missing in most comics. The shortcuts he uses makes everything more dynamic. People are doing these sketchup things where they feel they need to draw EVERYTHING rather than suggest a part of something. Bachalo is amazing. And he's got the best inker to compliment his stuff. Can't wait to get this.

I completely agree about Chris. A lot of what he does is lost on some people. Its highly interpretive and not about pretty aesthetics. Theres as much an element of design to his figure work as anything else. Ive learn a TON from him. Thanks again!
