Description A satyr tooting on his horn.

According to the Greek and Roman mythologies, satyrs were one of the biggest party animals of the time. So much so that the term 'satyriasis' was derived for a person (usually male) that is addicted to sex. Sorta like the term 'nymphomania' (from the nymphs). Funny world.

I love the detail on the hair and fur and his serene expression.

Satyr are not the only races that were party animals in ancient greece, centaurs were another group of party animals.

And the female party revellers were bacchae, often pictures on Greek pots rocking along with the satyrs. I like the fur on his legs adn his hair - the concentrated areas of lineart work well with the blanker areas.

When they said 'horny old goat' I guess they really meant it!

I was going to make a link to the Wikipedia article but it showed a wee bit too much 'anatomy' for my liking...

The hair was the easiest part to draw, getting those hands to look like something besides lumpy pudding was the real trick!
