Samus. all digital.I felt the urge to draw here up without the helmet. And give her a more streamlined tightly fitted suit. Mostly because Samus seems to just get chunkier and bulkier as the games progress. And i really hate all the new designs of her when she is outside the suit. I see her as a bad ass. and then in a lot of recent renditions.....she is some soft blonde dits with a scrunchy in her hair. blech.
The Streamlined part comes in because... well i just like it better. And i kinda dig the more Ninja-esc feel.

yeah, i never got all the blue suit Samus' they totally are just what you said. I would hate to imagine that's what's in the suit.

I really think this piece of art is amazing! The varying thickness of the lines is really appealing and the coloring is awesome! I think all your pics should be done in this style! And a comic done this way would be even more awesom!

Thanks man! I have grown much since this pic, so i see it a little differently. But, I am actually in the process of doing a revamp on this. A print will be for sale I think as well. You'll have to let me know if you approve of the new one when i post it.

Although I like the "Bulkyness" of the Prime Series. To me the Varia suit has been the "Tanky" suit. And the power suit the more Agile.

Yeah, i dig the tank style as well. it's so sleek and shiny that i just imagine it should be quicker...more streamlined? but maybe if it was rendered more rough, and chunky it would feel more battle ready....hmmmm. maybe i have just been playing starcraft too much lately.

Ugh I agree SO MUCH about her outside the suit--it seems like any of the zillion Barbie-with-a-gun characters running around out there. This is an amazing picture; the style of it is fantastic, and I love the harsh, strong style. It fits her very well.

Before I knew anything about the game I thought Samus was a dude, because of the suit! I love this suit, it looks more comfortable and easier for her to move. Awesome concept!

yeah it does make sense but i think in metroid prime they did it right. wasnt too bulky or light. I mean she jumps into freaking lava and walks around in it. her suit needs to be a little substantial.

A well styled Picture of Samus Aran I especially like the way the suit is very 'worn' it almost seems to provide no protection at all, yet we all know thats untrue.
I like your take on the hair as well, it's a refreshing break from Nintendo's insistence on yellow hair

yes! this perfectly fit's Samus' real personality. i never understood why they kept making her armor so chunky and making her "zero suit" so sluttish. Samus is no hoe! she's a clod mothe fucker who saves the galaxy on the daily basis!
