Thank you. I think so too. It makes you look twice, because at first it looks like a painting, then you see al the fine detail and ripples in the water.

the composition is jz great....its been awhile since i do such shoot. do u invest in filters?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TimB In reply to edblaine [2005-12-13 16:52:32 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! It's greatly appreciated. I actually only have a circular polarizer, but I'd love to have some more filters.

$$$ <-- Need more of that

Thanks...

I'm afraid not. I consider adjusting anything other brightness or contrast as a photomanipulation and would submit it as such. I use photoshop to resize my photos and thats about it.

That is incredible... the clarity of your picture is incredible...

Are you using the stock 18-70 mm lense???

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TimB In reply to jkiner [2005-12-13 17:35:18 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I do, but I'm using my standard 35-70mm lense from my N90s more and more. I like the wide angle of the stock lens, but dislike the paralax effect it has.

Nice pic, but I do not like the composition. I would either cut off a piece of sky or piece of sea

TimB In reply to lazy-lizzard [2005-12-13 16:40:27 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much for the input. I'll keep that in mind next time I'm taking sunset shots. I took a look at your gallery and I can see why you don't like the composition. Different styles I suppose, but your gallery certain backs up your opinion. You've got some great shots there.

my favorite thing about this photograph is the sharp focus. I am terrible at focus so this impresses me lol I really love the exposure its quite nice. However, I can't help but feel that the composition is lacking a bit in the foreground. At the bottom there is nothing really to stop the eye. I like the reflection because its suttle rather than just a perfect reflection which i think looks fake. Overall its a nice photo

Thank you for the nice comment. It's very much appreciated! The thing I love about the D70 is the different focusing modes. I generally use AF-S, use the single point focus setting, focus the photo, then compose and shoot. It's just practice and a little bit of luck.
