Description I drew this from my grandparents' wedding photo, which I've always loved. My grandma's dress was just gorgeous, and my granddad's in his navy uniform. I've always been fascinated by their story; they had four girls and a boy, who died of meningitis when he was a teenager. He died when my mother was little, but I feel a connection to my Uncle Peter. Last year I wrote a fictionalized short story based on how the family dealt with his illness.

So big news! That story will be published in an anthology of young writers, Springing from Halls of Marble: [link] . The book comes out May 1st, which is super soon and I'm a little freaked out about it. If you want to be an amazingly nice and kind person to the nine of us in the anthology, you could send your English teachers that link; the book is going to be set up especially for use in classes. I really enjoyed writing about my grandparents, who I tend to think were pretty impressive people.

You're welcome I don't typically draw realistically, so I haven't tried drawing folds much. But I do occasionally, and they're hard

They're hard to get the hang of, yeah. Sometimes it helps if you try to see them in individual shapes, instead of as part of a whole.

What a beautiful drawing! I love how your grandmother's dress came out especially. You draw folds very well ...

Thank you! I've always loved those kind of ruffles.
