started watching Naruto recently... at this point I think I'm watching anywhere between 30 and 40 episodes a week.. or as fast as I can download them anyway. I think I'm on episode... 73? don't remember. let me just make it clear now... you spoil something. you die an extremely painful death. I'm not kidding.without question, Naruto's my favorite character... it's hard to explain I guess. if you know me you might know why. that show has made me cry a lot already. but it's also made me laugh until I practically pissed myself. sign of a good show I guess. one of the aspects that appeals to me about Naruto is how he has this extremely powerful demon fox sealed inside of him that everyone's afraid of. so they shun him, as if he were the demon himself. and... yeah. I really feel for him is all I can say.
uh. the inking for Naruto was done in CS2, the Nine Tails was done with microns... lots of microns... um, yeah. I'm not sure what else to say. hope you like...? *shrug*
yeah. I so should be working on my midterms right now.

By the way they don't have Naruto anime over here. (Thank god. They totally screwed up the voices for Dragon Ball Z. I'd hate to see what they'd do to Naruto or Sasuke's voices)

It is an addictive series, isn't it? I'm not usually into Anime, but this one caught my eye. I think it's because the main character has so many dimensions and isn't totally angsty, but a klutzy, determined, childish rogue.
This is beautiful on so many levels. Love the simplicity of the fox and Naruto's expression. You just want to cuddle the poor little guy

I've never actually seen a full episode of Naruto, except for a little bit on CN late at night, but it's kind of hard to get interested in it just by jumping in in the middle, I guess. Plus I'm just not that big an anime fan, so unless someone comes up and throws a Naruto dvd at me, I probably won't be able to see it.

When I first saw the demon fox's face up close in the show, Vampiress was the first thing I thought of... he has the same smile and eyes... I could take a screencap if you'd like... i didn't want him to resemble Vampiress too much in this picture, but it definitely is the way I relate to the whole thing.

I love Naruto. I agree about it having a nice range of emotions. It makes me laugh and pretty much cry, too(I try to keep the crying down because I watch it with a friend on his computer

*nod* Naruto is a very inspirational character...but Iruka and Gaara are still my favorites. ^^

The first arc made me cry the most. First the Hero of the town dies (cry fest) then Haku and Zabuza...*sigh*
Naruto is one of those characters who has a depressing life and chooses to wear a smile, something the other characters should and will learn. The song 'Wind' always helps me channel my anger X3

Oh, you just got into Naruto? That's pretty cool. Naruto is an amazing anime because all the characters actually have an indepth background. That defeats the norm of usual anime, espessically fighting ones because the characters tend to be very flat and hard to relate to. It's great the creator actually uses the full potential of his characters.
Who's your least favorite character? Mine is Sasuke. For one, he's a total jerk. I know he has his reasons but it still makes me wanna smack him, espessically later on in the series.
Also for the picture, I love how your eyes are drawn to Kyuubi first, and not Naruto. : D Neat.

I'm not quite sure I understand the appeal to Sasuke either. he IS a jerk. normally I'd be attracted to a character like him because he's so dark and stoic, but he's just... that aspect of him gets carried away to a fault. I like him but I just can't admire him.

Maybe it's hard to admire him because despite all the hardships he went through with Naruto and Sakura, he still treats them with a lack of respect. You keep thinking he'll have potential to change, then he just goes off to be angsty and throws it all away. I think he's only redeming moment in the series was when he died for Naruto in the fight with Haku.
And is the picture supposed to be dark? I mean, I see Naruto fine, but Kyuubi's hard to make out, even with the brightness on my moniter maxed. Is this intentional? Sorry if I sound like an idiot. : o

I faded Kyuubi into the background a bit so it doesn't distract too much from Naruto... but you should be able to see him still, you should be able to tell the background is dark purple and not black.

It's a great show overall. I've just started watching the series myself, though it's the English version on CN, but I'm downloading the English subs to get myself caught up, including the manga which I happen to like very much as well. Naruto is such an amazing character himself, I agree, and I have my reasons for liking him. I love his determination which impressed me from the start. I have two other favorites currently, but I'll keep that to myself.

I've never seen the English dub, and now I think it would be kind of weird... I know it was rather bizarre when I saw the dub of Samurai Champloo, after seeing the whole series in Japanese. I just get used to the character that the original voices give. To me it completely changes the character when you change the voice.

I think it's interesting how Naruto does have this amazing power trapped inside of him, and the few times he's unwittingly tapped into just the tip of it he's been a power-house. And yet, despite this amazing force within him he's not been tempered by it. He's still a cheery kid that won't let go of his goal, no matter how hard you shake him. He's got an amazing power, and yet he still makes mistakes, he's still human.
I like the relationship his has with Iruka. I can't help but wonder if Naruto's childhood would have been a lot worse if it wasn't for the big brotherly mentor.

yeah... Naruto's a nice contrast to other characters that are rather similar to him in the show, like Gaara. Gaara's also got this monster inside of him but he gets completely trampeled by it. Naruto stands right in front of Kyuubi and calls him a dumb fox. to me that's real power. =\

You are so right about that series, im about whre you are as well, somewhere int he 70's area. I havnt seen the episodes in so long however, ill prolly have to go back over atleast the last 10 or so to get back on track (Its been about a year since ive watched any n.n) Same with me about the crying and laughing thing. Its such a wonderful series!
The art is wonderful. I LOVE the fact that the ninetails is just an outline and like a shadow played acrossed him as Naruto has full detail, and sitting there all lonely. Poor kid, he gets so much flak.

Personally, I'm not the greatest fan of Naruto...it seems like a very good idea, just not as well-executed as it could have been.
But anyway, I love Naruto's expression here, it's a very innocent "Don't hate me

Hmm, how do you think it isn't well-executed? admittedly, it shouldn't take three episodes to finish one battle (this aspect is getting rather predictable) but I also can't see much of how they could shorten it. personally my favorite story arc so far has been the very first one with Haku. that one seemed to have the most dimension to it. plus demon fox!Naruto just kicks ass. I was so happy.

I'm just losing overall interest in anime...I'm very picky with it so it's hard for a show to impress me very much. I haven't actually watched any of Naruto, though, I've just read about the first five volumes of the manga (until just after the Haku story...I do admit it was a very sweet story. I cried when Haku died ._.) so I can't make as much of a judgement on the anime...I just dislike action-typed manga/anime in general. That, and the fanbase for Naruto reminds me a little of the fanbase for DBZ...granted, Naruto succeeds in a million places where DBZ failed, but in the long run it's not one of the better series I've seen.

I'm probably the opposite, I'm more interested in anime now than I think I ever have been. but I love animation in general.
it's rather difficult to make a judgement of something you've never seen. but everyone has their preferences, I can understand if it just isn't interesting to you.
