*twitch*Leland Hawkins, Jim's dad, from Treasure Planet... ala my Lion King and human style. He actually does not have a character design that I know of... the most you see is his feet and the back of him, as anyone who has seen the movie would know... so I guess I've taken artistic liberties with him both in my fanfic and in my art. ;P I've actually got really attached to him, ironically... just 'cause he's so pathetic. This is really the first time I've bothered trying to draw him seriously, heh. Jim gets a lot of his looks from his mother... the hair color, the eyes, the nose... so I figured Leland probably wouldn't look a ton like Jim... he has something similar to Jim's hair style, 'cept I haven't decided the color... maybe dirty blonde. o_O I dunno, I'd have to do some more pictures of him.
Umm, yeah, anyway. I dunno why Leland lion is so funkily tilted. *tilts head*
Suppose the character would also be (C) Disney.

LMAO, you can't steal from me what I can't find!! XD; Good luck too, that thing is long out of print. [link] I remember buying it a month before the movie came out in theaters.
It's nice for fans because not only does it have a ton of art, it also has a lot of backstory information on the universe, the characters, etc. that was an absolute must back when I was penning a lot of Treasure Planet fanfiction.

Leland's face is absolutely grand, you can see how haggard and pathetic it is. I must be drawn to characters like him, I have one very similar in attitude -- two, actually. Love the big bulky lion legs. <3

Hmmm . . . the way you drew him, he looks a lot like Korso. Which, in a way, is pretty appropriate when you think about it. I notice that he also has a jacket like Jim's. I wonder whatever happened to him? *sits on the floor and starts pondering*
