That's almost always pleasant to imagine favorite characters in pretty younger ages. In "Trolls" we saw cute little Poppy in a movie, and saw another small trolls, so, we can imagine other two legged characters as kids too. In my story I have a version, that he went away from his kind with his uncle (as we know from the movie, he had uncle, and this uncle broke his neck, for the pity). After attack of hunters, where his parents were killed, Coo[er's uncle just decided, that they must try to find better place for life, took his little nephew and went away.
