Description Gaaah... I feel like I'm about to die. This one was a brain wringer to colour. The drawing itself went like a charm, but this! Have you any idea how friggin' horrible it is making wooden furniture look... well, wooden!? Have no clue what so ever how I managed to create wood grain(!), and year ring patterns. My least favourite colour now must be brown.

*sighs*

Original idea was to draw something K-Kitsu mentioned yesterday, after she saw and commented on "Get well soon". Grell spiking Sebastian's tea.
It ended up with this instead.
ProMarkers on regular printer paper. Took me about a day or so to finish.

Oh! I have no delusions of owning either character. Sebastian and Grell are both belonging to the Kuroshitsuji universe, and credit for the creation of said characters ought to be delivered to proper person.
I just had fun drawing this. Nothing more.

Black cat paws? You must show me!
As for the wood grains... well, I can show you when I get back on Norwegian territory.

Brown and purple, but also other nature tones like dark orange and green, for instance. Heh, understandable that you got fed up after all that. Still a lovely effect and a lovely colour, though.

Awesome, dear! You really managed to make it look wooden, I love the colouring! And - oh noes! Don't hate brown, that is one of my favourite colours!

Thanks, dear!
Ah, yes, that's true. Brown and purple, wasn't it?

I'm not actually hating brown, but I was quite fed up with the colour after finishing that one. Had to use three layers of brown, and two shades of grey to get that effect. But it was well worth it.

If it's any consolation, the wood looks really... well, wood-y.

WOOO! I drew Sebastian too today. Mine is a bit more ... sinister looking though. I also drew a kitty. A Reno-kitty.

But that looks awesome! I could never do wood like that. I just colour it brown, flat. And I even have Copics. Doesn't help when I'm lazy though.

One way I use to create wooden texture is to do it in layers. First have one layer of lighter brown (I used Cinnamon), fill in the grain directions by drawing multiple thin lines with a darker brown (chocolate), use a pale colour (Cold Grey 1, though other pale works too as long as a pattern is made in the darker colours) and just "bleed" the colour in the pattern you desire.
Next step was to make the wood look aged by taking the same pale colour used previously, and do a quick layer of that. Finally various shades of grey was used to create shadows and stuff.
It's an insane process which'll wreck your brain for the rest of the day, but the final result is definitely worth it.

Gah, sounds like too much work for me. Really. Also, I have one black and one brown Copic. I so seriously need more markers, but I need money first.

Ah, money... our cruel master of todays society. Controller of our every day lives, whom without we are utterly lost.
Understand your dilemma, as it is one I know of too well. Need a job, and soon.

At least from today on I'm actually a qualified teacher. I just checked my grades, and I passed everything. But I wish I could get some commissions, so I could by more Copics.

Ah, congrats, dear! Anything special you'd be teaching in?

Would love to help out by ordering a commission, but I'm as close to broke as can be...

English, religions and history... Hehe.

Yeah, all my friends who would actually consider getting one is as broke as me. Sadly.

Oh, might be fun teaching religions. Though I'd probably be fired for showing Zeitgeist to the kids.
I have some grudges against the brainless indoctrination of religion.

Well. Let's hope things look up in the near future. Would truly be a bore if things stayed like this...

Yeah. I can draw as much as I want now, but I need to find a way to make money, and soon.

Thanks!
It appears it isn't as impossible to get effects like those with regular marker pens. Though I wouldn't do it again for a long, LONG time... brain feels all woody now...
