As Ruby wanders in the cold, she yearns for a reason not to give up.
To keep moving forward.
To keep fighting.
She says to herself that her country and the King needs her.
Is not enough.
The cold begins to cripple her resolve.
If not for country
Why bother?
Why continue to fight?
And she remembers.

I really love the detail you showed in this picture. Just one minor thing. Wearing a steel helmet in subzero temperatures is nearly a death sentence. During World War two, soldiers quickly learned that you lose too much body heat if you just wear a steel helmet in cold weather. Thus, soldiers learned to wear something warm underneath or over their helmets. After the Winter War, Soviet Soldiers wore Ushankas which could be worn underneath a helmet. In many world war 2 pictures, you can see soldiers wearing something underneath or over their helmets to keep body heat.
However, I really like the idea of Ruby only wearing a steel helmet. I would imagine that Ruby would have little experience in fighting in winter conditions, thus would have no idea on how to survive in cold weather. Perhaps Weiss could save Ruby after finding Ruby nearly dead in the snow. Maybe even give her a warm winter coat and an ushanka?
