That's not gross at all.Enjoy our guest star, a creature that sure has an eye for details...
I borrowed this monster from a certain online game I used to play (note on 26/9/2013 - lol, still playing it
); I like it's design and it fits in here quite well. It belongs to a race known only as Stalkers, it's name I leave up to you to know/guess. (Too hard name to guess, so knowing is the only option

When you stop and think about it. I think if they weren't in the middle of a heated rescue operation, I think the ponies would be SHOCKED to hear the changelings SPEAK (they didn't before besides Chrysalis). Let alone their surprise if they learned they had NAMES.

Actually, the normal changelings do speak also.
When the mane six encountered the big mass of changelings changing into them at the castle courtyard, Twilight said 'They're changelings, remember?' Which about ten Twilight-changelings then repeated.
And as sentient creatures, it's kinda expectable for them to have names.

That's the point. I think the ponies WOULD be surprised to learn Chrysalis' changelings aren't just empty extensions of her will.

I'd say that assumption is correct.
Even the changelings have natural enemies in the Everfree forest. Not that I'd call that natural by any means.
