Featured your wonderful needlework!
Coming To BirthIt is fitting, in this last feature as I lay this format to rest, to quote a wonderful old poem by Arthur William O'Shaugnessy, called "Ode". I believe the analysis provided at https://poemanalysis.com/ode-arthur-oshaughnessy-poem-analysis/ is very worth a minute of your time, as an artist, and the complete poem appears below the features. As I embark, renewed in spirit, on a new/old artistic quest, I present with joy these beautiful works by your fellow artists along with two delightful Owl City Wall-E videos. I hope you enjoy them, and to all a very blessed week! With all my , yours in Christ always, Debra

I think your french knots are pretty good. It's so hard to get them uniform

thank you! even at best of times I could make a row of quite good ones and then spent lots of tries to make another one, and seems like I lost experience, cos I didn't have to make any and now needed to make few in a hamster pattern and it was quite a fight

A wonderful piece of art!
I had no idea stitching (forgive me) could have such clear results. (I probably was denying it)
Keep up the great work!

Did you know thta the author of the wood paintings sold them to turists?

Thriin In reply to salyssong [2016-10-29 20:44:11 +0000 UTC]
yes, I know, also sadly he was never too popular, or recognized in Japan, I suppose still isn't and not much of his works were therefor saved for future generations.

This is sooo breathlessly amazing! Maia really has beautiful collections. The Asian inspirations always get me (^_^). You did a really lovely job and the french knots look great from here! How big was this project? How long did it take you?

Thriin In reply to WaffuMonsta [2015-08-02 14:47:50 +0000 UTC]
awwww thank you!! I'm really happy you like it! yes, Maias are great, I have four more in my stash three of them Asian This one is 20x30cm(about 7"x11") on 16ct fabric and it took me 7weeks-while making the first half I thought it will take much longer cos I felt like I'm progressing only very slowly but the second half I've done quicker than I thought (not that I'm doing those for speed )

This is stunning. The multi-sized french knots actually work well since sea sprays are not uniform dots.
The sheer number of those french knots would drive me crazy!

Thriin In reply to horrorfreakjuh [2015-08-01 21:06:24 +0000 UTC]
thank you!! yep, loads of them and the 'glowing' thread I used is kinda more like metalics-doesn't stick together like usual threads which made some of the french knots 'spread' in the way they really shouldn't
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Thriin In reply to horrorfreakjuh [2015-08-02 17:44:18 +0000 UTC]
I've heard that Kreinik threads-metalics and such are not as difficult to work with as the other brands but I haven't try for myself yet, I have some in a kit I custom ordered from a shop with a HAED pattern but heaven knows when I'll start working on that. no need to say they are also much more expensive(kreiniks, I mean)
