Description Another quick painting progression, this time for human lips ("Disclaimer": This is very general and probably won't be useful as a serious tutorial. I'm always happy to answer questions if you have any.)

TO MY WATCHERS: Are there any specific in-depth digital painting tutorials you're interested in seeing? I've done human eyes and animal fur so far. Please leave a comment with your idea or support for someone else's suggestion. Thanks!

Nice sequence. We see the alternance of drawing and blending to create the texture.

If you want an idea for an in-depth tuto, you could do something about the technical aspects of digital painting. It would be extremely informative to know how to start a painting the right way for instance, by chosing the colors that will work, the things that work and the things that DON'T... Then techniques and methods to get a coherent and harmonious color scheme and lighting and get the focus where we want it to be.

Your paintings show a good mastery both of precise details like fur and hair, but also of overall composition, color theory and lighting, and it would be great to make a tuto about it

Thank you! I'm not sure if I've mastered the concepts you mentioned well enough to be qualified to make a tutorial on them. But I'll definitely consider what you said and think about what would be possible for me to do. I really appreciate the kind words and great ideas! Thanks again

That's really cool Only once I tried to polypaint lips, but it was so hard and I had to subdivide the mesh too much to be able to give it a texture, so I went back to a previous version of solid, featureless lips :\

Thanks

I had to google what polypaint was. It reminds me of the process of customizing Sims. I never learned how to make meshes but I did know how to paint skins to go over preexisting meshes. Am I understanding it even a little bit?

Lol. Sorry, I don't know if that's how it works Polypainting is basically painting (and sometimes texturing too) a 3D model in a 3D environment and in real time, as if you were painting a physical model. Basically digital painting on the model itself.
