Description
Here is a convoy under attack after an IED flipped the leading Ibex. The Union Forces here expected the Ibex to be destroyed but even though it wasn't they kept up the attack hoping to maximize enemy casualties. Events like this would lead Federal troops to voice demands to kill prisoners as they began reclaiming Bounty. The Union Kommando corps primary tactic was delaying the ECF advance. With the Janissary Corps being used as suicidal troops rushing forward in waves reminiscent of First Cold War Soviet tactics seen in war games aimed at destroying NATO countries. The Janissary forces were often butchered to the last only killing their Federation opposition in stray automatic weapons fire or heavy fire power saturating targets.
The Kommandos would often wait without heavy equipment as that would only slow them down and wait to pick off by the Federation forces. The Kommandos would lay in wait until enemy forces exited their orbital defense zones to attack. The Union commanders hoped that with to the death tactics that Kommandos would force the ECF political leadership to come to the negotiation tables. The ECF would suffer most of its casualties this way. ECF high command would order more vicious retaliation tactics. Specifically with the first full scale deployment of the Interstellar Marine Strike Forces in head hunting operations. The use of trans-human super soldiers would bring forth escalation the Union forces were completely unprepared to face.
As a result Union Kommandos would dig in and fight from hardened bunkers that couldn't be easily found from orbit. From there they would often hold objectives that were needed by the Earth Colonial Federation and thus could not be nuked from orbit. The ECF would eventually win this tit for tat system of combat and solidify its dominion over humanity's place in the stars. By the end of the war the history books would blame destruction on the greedy of lazy communist and their supporters.
