I don't know- it's just a theory, but having one line for all of the founders is just plain idiotic in my opinion. I feel like Voldy is only heir by a daughter's line, while the Blacks- one of the darkest families that we learn about, have roots with a sons' line. So technically Sirius could never obtain the title of Lord of Slytherin, as he'd be heir to the Black line. But Regulus, he could potentially take up the mantle and turn the tides.
