I love how you mixed realism with such loose strokes. This works very well for the highlights and shadows in her hair and skin. The atmosphere is really set by her expression. You can't tell what she's thinking or feeling and is generally mysterious. I love it.

I agree I love the painterly look of it and how you used the purple in the background to help the subject stand out from the rest. I love the eyes too! The only thing I'm unsure of is the bit of red you used near the frame of her face (most prominent by her left ear).
