Description 2 minute exposure, Slave River, near Fort Smith, NT, Canada.

While this was taken in 2009, I never uploaded it until today. This is its first release.

p.s. ..I said I'd upload one photo a day. Well, I was gonna upload a panorama for 2 days worth, but it was SO big (100 megapixels, 9 images stitched) that my computer handled it very slowly and I've shelved it for now. Β Soo...Yeah, here's some pretty colors!

Oh my god Roy! You're on Deviant Art. I can't exactly explain why that's SO awesome, but it is. It means a lot to have you comment here and I will keep at it. Just wait till I start posting some Island scapes!

It's almost as if you're standing on a mountain top, overlooking the clouds below. Very surrealistic and tranquil!

Maybe that’s why I love your photos that much. You capture the stuff that triggers my imagination and what I would love to photograph if I was there to see it myself. Well… I would likely ask/beg/nag someone who actually knows how to use his or her camera to shoot it because then it might actually show what it is that I had in mind. Β

Loving the foreground textures juxtaposed with the soft airiness of the water. And the purple...such beautiful color.

Thank you very much The redness of that granite especially, and its reflective strength when it's wet - because it's basically polished over the years by silty water - makes for some spectacular colors! I'm glad you like this one. I am partial to it, but...and I am loathe to point this out...you can see the sloppiness of my work when brought the sky down. You can see some marks where I painted a layer out on the sky wanting to balance it more. I am trying a new thing though and just letting it go, or I'll actually stress about it. I'm silly like that.

Well, my eye has trouble picking up on things like that. I very rarely notice sloppy or lazy painting/cloning work like some other people I know! If you hadn't pointed it out, I never would have known.
You're welcome!Β

Nicely done. Colors are always appealing to me but what I like even better is the foggy/vapourlike quality of the water surface. Reminds me of mountain tops half-bathing in clouds. Top-notch-composition. And no worries about your self-set one-photo-a-day-rule...A photo a day keeps the doctor away but a slow big shot calls the doctor back to the spot, so....take your time, aye?

Will do I kind of HAVE to now, cause I just got a new job as a seasonal worker at Future Shop, an electronics store. So some of my time will be taken up and I will have to re-budget accordingly. I'm sort of happy to go to work...It will help me set a pace with things. It's hard to explain but I expect that little extra structure to actually help with my personal projects long term. My photography knowledge will help if they consider moving me to part-time as well...Who knows. I better not get too ahead of myself. So I'm kind of excited you could say. Some cash flow will be nice too.

Best of luck! Sounds like a decent job (especially regarding potential for part-time), like your sort of thing (if I may say so )...And yes, jobs - even the ones frowned upon by some or considered no big deal - definitely help structuring the day and setting the pace. They put everything else in proper perspective. I think you already have that perspective anyway..but the financial extra bit will help as well. I understand that kind of slight excitement. I have been working in my job for more than 14 years and I still get sort of excited whenever new or unexpected situations come up....Routine is one thing but you cannot predict everything. Life is a constant adventure into the unknown...That was deeper than I meant. Β
Anyways, I know you will be fine.

Why, yes, seems like I did, doesn't it? Hah, I am cleverer than I thought! I am possibly the only person who can outwit herself without even intending to. LOL!

You are a smart cookie, Mr. Koidhis!
