I really adore the use of texture and light within this image. The light that shines on the surfaces of the objects highlights their forms rather simply; yet what is revealed in a complex field of detailed texture and dynamic colour.
In particular, the object on the left bears this burnt spatter of grit that, paired with the worn-out plaster texture that covers the rest of object, appears immediately striking with its high contrast and dark colour.

The sheer rawness and roughness on the textures bears a huge impact, and with the surrounding darkness and high-contrast lighting that appears to be from a torch, one could assume these objects are from a disheveled, long-forgotten part of an abode.
That revelation of something so dirty and in such a bad state is very powerful. It is rare that such seemingly dirty textures are highlighted as an art, though their dynamic tonal range and powerful textures make them truly very expressive, more than I would have thought.
Stunning work.
