And this concludes my run of Tamagotchi ON for now. I'll come back to it some day to raise the third generation, but for now, it's going back in the box.

So... as I said, this is my first new Tamagotchi device since the Tamagotchi Angel in the late 90's. What did I think?

It's pretty good. It's not as different from the OG Tamagotchi as I was expecting, but different enough that it feels fresh. I do think it's pretty slow paced though, that's honestly my biggest criticism, it feels like everything about this device is slow. Menu navigating, animations, text scrolling, minigames, item usage, all of it...

Also I don't really like the look of most of the modern Tamagotchi. They're all shaped like Funko pops... I'm sure that's to make the gene mixing work, and maybe it's not a problem on other modern devices, but still, I think vintage era Tamagotchi are still more interesting in the design department.

I sound like I disliked it but that's because I have always had an easier time being critical of what I liked than actually listing the things I liked about it. I really enjoyed the ON and don't mind the idea of coming back to it some time, and I am also open to trying out more modern Tamagotchi releases. Maybe the Pix if I can get it for cheap. Smart is out of the question unless commissions and ko-fi donations suddenly start rolling in. But I'm much more interested in trying out the other vintage era Tamagotchi like Ocean or Morino. I'm interested in Connection too but there's so many versions and the market is flooded with bootlegs, they're wicked overpriced as well. I don't know where to start.
