Description
The past year or so I've been doing some body close up drawings. All of them prior to this have been on 6" x 8" paper. I wanted to try something larger and drew this on 9" x 12" vellum bristol board. I plan on doing more, but I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'll keep working at this size, or go back to the 6 x 8.

Graphite and Prismacolor Ebony pencil on the previously mentioned paper. I usually use smooth bristol board for my comic work, but I think the vellum helps with the skin texture for close ups like this. I think the most challenging thing was getting the freckles to look like freckles. It seems like it should have been one of the easiest, but it just wasn't looking right for some time. Maybe it still isn't! I got to a place where I feel happy, though.
