Description Taken in the Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife this April.

I unfortunately only know the German name - Kronenkranich - so, if anyone knows the English translation, please tell me.

Oskila is correct, proper namealearica pavonina. The German literally translates as 'crowned crane'. Very nice shot!

I think it's a Grey Crowned Crane. Looking at images from wikimedia commons I get the feeling that people uploading pictures there have had some trouble telling Grey and Black Crowned Crane apart.
