-Ray is an ex Rocketchu. He was once a normal Pikachu until he was captured by Team Rocket and tainted by their cruel experiments, which turned his cheeks and ears blue. The first experiment (which changed his appearance) failed, because of this even as a Rocketchu he could still remember his past, and he was never as powerful as he could be. He worked and trained with Team Rocket for awhile before escaping. He got a scar in his tail after battling with a Team Rocket Weavile. Now that he has escaped, years later he feels an urge to go back to Team Rocket. A feeling caused by his Rocketchu blood.

He rarely works with Team Rocket now after he escaped but he still carries his evil habits and often steals/causes trouble wherever he goes.
