I love this for MULTIPLE REASONS!
The wire colors are very well blended. The lighting of this piece just adds to its quality. The gears and added hardware elsewhere just add so much to the overall effect, especially to the Cephalothorax.
I love that you didn't just throw this piece together, you put quite a great deal of time into this. the coiling around a majority of the piece alone speaks volumes!
I'm curious how much time you put into this piece. It has to have been at the very least ten hours? seriously the details on this are too well thought out to have been anything less!

I really love this as I am a fan of arthropods, however: this doesn't look very steampunky to me. It's looking more like a very well done wire sculpture. I really enjoy the elements in its stinger and the core of its body, but for the most part it just looks like very very talented wire-work (which we all know you are excellent at).
I always think of this one: [link] when I look at your more figurative works. You really accentuated the part that is mechanical, the piece at the very back of the body with the tight coils that look like tubing, I really love it about that piece. For this scorpion, I don't know if its the angle you have the photo at, but while it shows off what the critter is, I don't think it shows off your handiwork very well. It's striking because its a really nice silhouette, but it blocks a lot of the detail. I feel like you could incorporate a lot more creativity with clock pieces or maybe even some skeleton keys and gear parts.
I love your style and your creativity, but I miss the rawness of your much earlier works. [link]
Maybe its because you became more masterful with your tools and are no longer making scratches on the wires or pieces, but I really love that salvaged look.
