Description The first in my War is Hell series, with World War 2 and Vietnam coming later.

Basically, it's John Smith, a London postman who later became a Lance Corporal and survived the war, but not before losing his right leg. I created him in several stories for the World War One project in English.

He is wielding the Lewis Gun, issued to the infantry and one of the best LMGs ever made. He's also wearing British Army Armour-body armour issued to the infantry for protection, even though they died when a bullet hit them in the gut, as the metal was quite thin there.

He's one of the few of his platoon left, advancing across No Man's Land in the pouring rain and mud and providing them with covering fire as they fight hand-to-hand in the background.
