You have the most amazing surroundings. Might I ask, how do you get that color and texture to your shots? Or did you happen to shoot on such an gray day?

Beautiful!

It was snowy, but reasonably sunny. Since it's HDRI I did tone maping to get the "grey" effect.

very nice, what a cool looking place, was it really abandoned or was it just set up to look that way?

Very abandoned. It's now considered a "state park" so they have some of the areas fenced off (like the main temple) for safety reasons.

No, because of vandalism. The owner of the property want people to be able to explore he just doesn't want the place ripped up. It's sad really. I do believe he is looking for a gate keeper to solve the problem so he can take down the fence again. Also not a state park, it's privately owned and just a monument now to that particular tribe. Beautiful picture though, I love that particular face and shrine.

Oh, sorry, misread that. It was a hippie commune back in the 70's, I believe.

It wasn't a hippie commune, it was a Native Americans chief's house. The Thunder Mountain Tribe I believe, I could be wrong. I love that place, it is one of the most beautiful, and creepy places to me.
