Description Looked up what a Jaingshi was. It's pretty much a hopping vampire. To avoid making her look like a Hsien-ko knock off, I looked up what a traditional Jaingshi looked like.
Pretty much looked like Lei-lei. Except she doesn't wear the beads. I think the only thing I forgot was the Spiritual paper on her face. I'll have to make an update later on.

They're Chinese Vampires, also known as Hopping Vampires. Dunno how deadly they are since the story mentions that their legs are bound. That's why they tend to hop. XD

I think it's the color of their skin. They turn an icy blue, which is what most people look like when dead for a long while. The images I've seen showed that they do have fangs, but I'm not sure what kind of powers or what knot they have.

yeah i guess so. so why can't the run or walk? why they have to hop?

Well here's the bio of a jiang shi:

Jiang shi isΒ a Chinese "hopping" vampire or zombie , is a type of reanimated corpse in Chinese legends and folklore. It is typically depicted as a stiff corpse dressed in official garments from the Qing Dynasty , and it moves around by hopping, with its arms outstretched. It kills living creatures to absorb their qi , or "life force", usually at night, while in the day, it rests in a coffin or hides in dark places such as caves

Β

Most Jiang Shi are corpses who have died for a long time, and then brought back to life as vampires. So in a sense they are both vampires & zombies. But rather then drinking blood, they drain your life energy or your soul. Since they are re-animated corpses, their bodies are stiff, forcing them to hop rather then run or walk.

I based the image off some ancient art work of a Jiangshi. So I tried to get as close to that as I could.
I wasn't making a Lei-lei Chun-li.

i know...i thought that she had her eyes closed but if take a good look you can she them that she is in a spirit state white eyes mode !

TheToonDevil In reply to steveraider [2010-11-24 00:14:42 +0000 UTC]

I wanted to make her look like she was lifeless by giving her pale eyes.
But with such a small pallet to work on, I couldn't add the detail.

"...look like a Hsien-ko knock off..."

I was about to say she looks ver similar to Hsiek Ko. But she ain't a knock off.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheToonDevil In reply to SUPER-JOHN-DOE [2010-11-23 18:38:05 +0000 UTC]

Well I I refrained from the red tunic that Hsien-ko wears, I also notice Hsine-Ko doesn't wear the beads (holds some kind of value).
So I tried going with the original design for Jaingshis. Pretty much Hsien-ko looked like this. Just with longer sleeves.

Hey, put Anyone in a karate uniform and they'll look like Takuma from King of Fighters. Since most iconic fighting game characters are the most simplistic don't worry too much about it.

Personally, I think anyone who wear a gi as a guy reminds me of Ryu or if a girl Makoto.
Much like dressing a guy with white hair in a red trench coat, I think Dante. XD
