Description
The merchants thought when they pulled the young man onto the boat that they were saving onlyone person. Only after they got him on board did they see the bundle of blue rags and wavey black hair that he held in his arms. A little girl, half drowned and chilled to the soul. Though the young man was just as wet as she, he insisted they take care of her first. They asumed she was his sister, but the young man whose name was Uru confirmed that he had no idea who the girl was.
"How did you find her?" They asked.
"I saw her in the water and I carried her to the surface so she could breath," said Uru, matter of factly.
"But what were YOU doing in the water?" they questioned.
"The backstroke," said Uru and smiled.
Later, when the girl woke up and was told who her savior was, she attatched herself to the young man as her gaurdian. Though they questioned her about her life and who she was she seemed to know very little, continually asking where her mommy and daddy were, but not seeming very upset about the whole affair. Only when they asked her name did they get a reaction.
"I think Credenza is a nice name," she said, and would only answer to that ever after.

Just gotta say, I don't think you should've scrapped this. Its a really nice picture, but what I really likeabout it is it stands out from all your other drawings, just beause its done in color pencils. Or color period. I am soooo favoriting this.

....wait, so does that mean that Credenza isn't actually her real name? Oh, the questions arise.
I really want to try and draw Uru. He's such an awesome guy for all he's done for Credenza.

Before you take the above story into account, I think I should say that this is a really old version of how Credenza meets Uru. In the current version, Credenza actually knew her parents (so her name is definitely Credenza). While her relationship with Uru is still the same, the circumstances behind it changed a little since I drew this picture. I'm amazed you actually found this thing.

Well, your Were-whale characters are awesome, and I wanted to try drawing one. So I randomly did a search for 'Uru Were-whale' in the little search box, to see what other people had done if anyone else had done anything, and this was the first one, and it was all colorful since the other ones were sketches and not actually related to your comic so I clicked on it.
I actually doodled him. His hair is fun to draw. But I'm amazed you have the patience to actually make a comic. With human characters. I tried once. It was horrible, I got through one page, and that was the most times I've drawn humans in a row. Obviously, I gave up. That and I didn't really like the story that much either.

Thanks. ^_^' I know what you mean, I've tried alot of comics befor Archipelago that never got past the first page. I hardly ever drew humans (as the first few pages of Arch show) and I didn't really start drawing them regularly until I was working on Archipelago. As to my patience on working on it, it really comes down to I love what I do. As stupid a character trait as it is, I don't see it as worthwhile to work on something as hard as I do on Archipelago unless you love it.
