Okay, as most of you have probably noticed, I hardly ever do fan art. But I have been promising myself and some "Revolutionary Girl Utena" fan art for sometime now. Although these may not be her favorite characters, they are mine. For those of you who are not familiar with the series, the redhead is Touga Kiryuu and the one with the green hair is Kyoichi Saionji.When I took this on, I had no idea how hard it was going to be. I had to fight ever bit of the way to keep my style out of it and I am not used to coloring as if I was painting a cell. It took way longer than I thought it would, but I am happy with the result.
I really love Saionji, he just so psyco! I depict him losing here...because he always loses. (And he is always flabber-gasted when he does.) I love the evil crazy ones.
These characters completely belong to Chiho Saito. This is just fan art by me.

This is beautifully done! I love how you did their hair too. It's nice that almost everyone in Utena had epic hair since it makes for some beautiful fan art. I also like how it's basically yaoi because there was a lot of rather blatant yaoi between them in the series. I bet after Saionji gets over the shock of losing again, he's going to be really mad and won't be able to go five minutes without slapping someone.

lol...I love that show...I only wish I had done Touga justice. I thought my Saionji looked okay...but my Touga looked aweful.

Yup, I love them too, and I believe on the fact that fan art is hard. >.< I've tried it, and didn't like it. I once drew a pic of Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho. *shoots self* X _ X ....Yeah, so I just stick to writing now.

Probably...got any requests. lol. It was hard, I didn't have hardly any good referrance material...so I am sure I screwed up the costumes if nothing else. I tired watching the show and pausing it...that doesn't work so great.

There are a few things that are different, but it's not that big of a deal. I'll take as much Utena artwork as you feel like doing, but you know the series I like!

I think actually doing Utena and Anthy would be easier..there's a lot more referance material out there of them. I know I messed up on the costumes...there is another slit on the front of their jackets and I did not include pockets on Saionji's outfit...becuase I thought they would be distracting from that awesome hand I drew. (I am very proud of the hand..I think I kept it true to the style their hands are in and it looks graceful. lol)

I must comment here as well, since you did such a great job with the cell-style coloring! I don't think it would be an easy task to keep your natural style out of it while coloring, so kudos for succeeding with your intention! It does still have your style to it though, which makes it all the better.

Double commenting, because I forgot to add that the only little kink I can point out is Touga's legs. It looks like Saionji is between them, but the proximity of space makes it apear like he's a flat boject from the belly button down. But otherwise, exceptionally lovely work.

I am glad you pointed that out. I thought there was something funky going on there...I just couldn't figure out what. You know...when you stare at something for so long....you begin to loose concentration. So it is fix...and I think Touga looks more stable all around.
